The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new multifunctional building with a total area of 3,100 m2, within sight of the company headquarters, took place on Tuesday, June 2nd. The new combined operating and office property for manufacturing companies consists of two buildings with a total of ca. 1,400 m2 of office space and ca. 1,700 m2 of rental production space that are connected by a flying roof and a shared underground car park with 60 parking places. The designed structure allows for separately usable company units. The two buildings contain four multifunctional production halls, which are assigned two-story office spaces on the street side.

The underground car park of the building will be connected to the underground car park of the directly adjacent hotel, which is currently under construction. The company location, suggested by the architecture firm Aicher, is characterized by a high-quality facade design and modern equipment.

The project is part of a joint venture between the PRISMA Group and ZIMM. In addition to ZIMM, this new business location will enable many other companies to establish themselves as tenants in this multifunctional building. The first permanent tenant is the company SEW-EURODRIVE, that has been a partner of ZIMM for many years. SEW-EURODRIVE will move from Dornbirn to Lustenau and will then use more storage space and assembly options for their gear motors.

The ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of the PRISMA Group, DI Bernhard Ölz, the two CEOs of ZIMM GmbH, Gunther Zimmermann and Akan Celik, as well as DI (FH) Oliver Beschkowitz, Managing Director of SEW-EURODRIVE Ltd., Mayor Dr. Kurt Fischer of Lustenau and numerous other representatives of the project and planning team.

SEW-EURODRIVE, a leading manufacturer of gear motors in drive engineering, is a long-standing partner and supplier of ZIMM. SEW-EURODRIVE represents ZIMM in Belgium and other countries. It is, therefore, all the more pleasing to have SEW-EURODRIVE as a tenant for the project.

The apprentice workshop will be relocated to the new company building and will thus receive independent premises to further develop the importance of training. This underlines the importance at ZIMM of supporting skilled prospective specialists in their development and creating an ideal training foundation.

With today’s groundbreaking ceremony, another chapter of ZIMM’s company history begins. The possibilities of using the new building are very flexible both for us as part-owners as well as for tenants. It is the mix of modern office space and production and storage areas that makes this building so attractive, says Gunther Zimmermann | CEO.
