Reliable solutions for the alpine industry_2

The Green concept is not the only thing driving the current trend towards a more ecological and sustainable future, but also the screw jacks and industrial actuators from ZIMM.

A screw jack is an electromechanical drive that can move and adjust loads linearly with precision. These actuators are an economical alternative to hydraulic solutions and offer a wide range of applications in the alpine industry. One example is their use in cable cars and ski lifts, where they control and regulate the movement of the gondolas or chairs. These gearboxes are also used in snow cannons; they are very robust and reliable components, as they can work continuously even under extreme conditions.

High precision

A significant advantage of industrial actuators and screw jacks compared to hydraulic solutions is the high precision of the load adjustment as well as the mechanically controlled repeatability and adjustable speed. This accuracy applies to individual gearboxes as well as to synchronised complete systems, which are operated with only one motor and can control several screw jacks simultaneously. In addition, the ZIMM gearboxes can be loaded with maximum force (nominal load) under tension as well as under compression. This is a huge advantage over other manufacturers of screw jacks.

Online configuration

Another unique feature of ZIMM is the CAD product configurator, with which screw jacks can be configured conveniently, easily and quickly. The engineer selects the desired gearbox, the size and the matching parts and then receives the desired 3D data via e-mail.

“We at ZIMM are proud to manufacture high-quality screw jacks for the alpine industry and are convinced that they will continue to play an important role in the future,” says Martin Gfall | Internal Sales Engineer at ZIMM.
